This week on The Happy Page: Seventy-eight years ago today, a book was published that used just 50 small words to tell its whimsical rhyming story. Written as the result of a bet between author and publisher, it quickly became one of the most popular children’s books of all time, was translated into multiple languages – including Latin! – and has sold well over 8 million copies to date.
It’s also a lot of fun to read aloud, although not nearly as much of a challenge as Fox in Socks. 😉
The Happy Page is updated every Sunday with a video that is cute or yummy or funny or inspiring or something. |
