This week on The Happy Page: A 130 year-old love song, played by a fabulous modern cellist.
While on holiday with a friend in 1888, composer Edward Elgar was thinking about the woman he wanted to marry, who had presented him with a poem about love right before he left. He returned home and in turn presented her with this short musical composition, which he initially called “Love’s Greeting”. And then he proposed.
The Happy Page is updated every Sunday with a video that is cute or yummy or funny or inspiring or something.
